The Angel of the North has been voted the best-loved roadside landmark in the UK, topping a survey led by the country’s largest coach operator.
The statue – which turns 18 on Tuesday – scooped over a quarter of the votes from the National Express poll, but that’s not to say other eye-catching landmarks went unrecognised.
With the stunning Clifton Suspension Bridge and picturesque Stirling Castle both garnering appreciation, here are the top 10 best-loved roadside landmarks in the UK.
